I don't wanna go on a rant here...

I'm tired of everyone saying that we're all the same. We're not. I look around and I can see differences between any to people. Granted, that's not an enlightened thought, but hear me out here. This society focuses entirely too much on sameness, and when that happens, groupthink happens. I know "to belong is one of the basic human needs, but come on. People need to be self-confident, self-sufficient enough to be able to feel like the characteristics that make them unique aren't negatives. They need to feel that the parts of them that are "different" than the parts of the people of the group they're in aren't going to take away from the fluidity of the work that the group does, the actions that they take.
Groups need differences, even radical ones, in thought processes to help them advance more quickly to their desired goals. When certain peoples on the "fringe" are rejected, sometimes, but not always they may be presenting new ideas that those who are always together may miss, because they are steadily moving at a "two steps forward, one step back" type of flow. This is usually caused by the recycling of ideas and the slow accommodation of more water soluble ideas from the "unacceptable" party that they can squeeze in and begin the sought after change.

Note: I'm reading this over, and I realize I think faster than I type [duh]. I've gone through at least 7 topics in my head and this writing no longer makes sense to me. Just as well. I hate all my writing.
